Common questions
How is this different from QuickBooks Self-Employed?
QuickBooks is software you operate. Postboard Books is a service Postboard operates for you. We do the categorization, we generate the statements, and a CPA reviews the result. You don't open a bookkeeping app; you get clean books delivered.
What if I'm already using QuickBooks or Wave?
We can switch you over and pull your historical data in. Most users find that 6 months in, they stop opening their old tool entirely. We don't lock you in either — your books are always exportable to standard accountant-readable formats.
Do you handle payroll?
Not yet. Postboard Books covers everything except payroll. If you have W-2 employees or full-time contractors on retainer with monthly payroll runs, you'd pair us with a payroll service (Gusto, Rippling). If you pay 1099s ad-hoc, we handle it.
